Blog posts #2- More about my inspirations

Another artist whose music interests me is Olivia Rodrigo. Olivia Rodrigo is a former Disney channel actor who acted in series like "Bizaardvark" and "High School Musical: The Musical the Series". Most of Olivia's audience is made up of teenage girls. In her songs she sings about the way she's feeling. In her song "The grudge" one of her verses is "But you know I can't let it go I've tried, I've tried, I've tried for so long. It takes strength to forgive but I don't feel strong". Olivia Rodrigo's music has such an inspiration on me because her songs have this calming tone. The lyrics she sings reaches out to me and her other listeners making them easy to relate to.

"All the bright places" is another movie that inspired me. "All the bright places" is a Netflix film starring "Justice Smith" and "Elle Fanning" as the main characters. In this film Theodore finds Violet sad while she thinks about her sisters passing. Throughout the movie they're both struggling with mental health, school and families and they go through it together. While in the end they didn't get their happy ending, they helped each other become better people. This was an inspiration to my film because it demonstrated growing up and becoming different people. Throughout my film opening I want to demonstrate that comfort feeling, once finding so much comfort in a person and it gets ripped away. This film shows more negatives of coming of age and how it's not easy.

Both of these media examples demonstrate what I want my film to express. I don't want it to be too sad where it effects the way people feel, but I want it to be eye opening. Like Olivia Rodrigo's music I want there to be a calming feeling. Like the movie "All the bright places" I want to express that feeling of comfort you can find within a person.
