Blog post #3- Picking my Actors

For the opening of my film, I want my main character to be a teenage girl who I can confidently trust will express the feeling I want to get across. I want someone that I know will understand and take the project seriously. When trying to pick my actors, I needed people that will try to make their parts good. While my actors could change as time passes, this is my vision.

For my main character, I chose Mia Robinson. Mia is one of my best friends and I trust that she'll portray the purpose of my film. Mia is confident when she acts, she can be serious and can adjust to what I need her to do. Mia's a sixteen-year-old girl in my grade who experiences the same things as me. I think that she'll be able to show off that feeling of what it's like to be a teenage girl.

Throughout my film, the male I want in my scene is my friend Ethan Rubin. Ethan was an actor in my music video with Mia. They worked good together and didn't disappoint when it came to their acting. Throughout my opening I don't plan on having a male in a lot of the shots but when I do, I plan on using Ethan as that actor. In my scene, I want the male actor to come off as a nonchalant and careless. I think Ethan will portray that well.

Since my film is a coming-of-age opening, I don't plan on having too many lead actors. The additional actors would just be background characters. So, for example, I'd include my parents or Mia's parents. Or if I need people to act as Mia's friends I'd use our friends Olivia Robinson, Marco Nava or Noah Burchard. I would always use our siblings if that was the necessary actions needed to be taken.

While my idea is freshly new my actors aren't completely set. However, I am confident with knowing that I want Mia and Ethan to be the main actors. As time goes on and I begin to film I guarantee their will be changes when it comes to my background actors and more will be added.
