Blog Post #28- iMovie

To edit my film all together I will be using iMovie.
I have decided to use iMovie because it is the most accessible and it is the app, I am most comfortable with using. I have used iMovie multiple times on past media studies assignments, and it is the app I feel I could work best with. iMovie is an app that automatically comes with your iPhone. This app lets you put clips together, speed them up, add transitions, edit words, add color and so much more. This is a very flexible, non-complex app. It is also a very commonly used app that if I ever get confused or want to learn more, I can look up videos on YouTube and learn more.

This is my former Media Studies assignments that I edited with iMovie. iMovie is easily accessible and can be edited on any apple device if you login with your apple ID. I have an apple computer and my mom has an apple iPad that I can use to edit my film. This gives me a bigger screen that I can work with besides my phone.

This is a screenshot taken from my former Propps character theory assignment that I used iMovie to edit. As you can see iMovie allows you to put multiple clips together and cut them however you like. The lines in-between different clips allow you to add transitions there. It gives you the options of a dissolve, slide, wipe and fade. Then at the bottom it gives you different categories. When I took the screenshot, I was on the cut strategy. This allows you to cut the clip, make two of it, split it or just delete it in general. This will be helpful when I am editing the clips I do not need. There is then the speed which gives you the choice to speed up or slow down the clip. It then has sound which lets you adjust the volume of the clip or add in an overhead sound. The T is text, so that gives you the options to add in text, change the font, the size and the color of text. Those three circles signify the color. That gives you different color shades to go over, for example black and white. Then the magnifying glass in the right corner lets you zoom in or out. Meaning you can enlarge or shrink a certain thing in your clip.

iMovie is a simple editing app that allows me to edit my movie for free. It gives me many options to make my opening scene good and made up of many different stuff.
