Blog Post #33- The other girl

Introducing the other girl.

In my opening, Chelsey Rivera is portrayed as the other girl. This is the girl my protagonist (Mia Robinson) is jealous of and wishes she could be. I pick Chelsey to be an actor for my film because she is so pretty and a teenager that I can see people being jealous of. Chelsey is huge to this film since she is the girl that Mia wakes up as. Picking someone for this character required specific characteristics and Chelsey fit all perfectly.

To make Chelsey have some relevance to the plot before Mia wakes up as her, the beginning shows Mia looking at her Instagram. This is a crucial part of the scene so that Chelsey does not just show up out of nowhere. This way she is introduced, and Mia does not just randomly wake up as her.

For this scene I attempted to make it look like an over the shoulder shot. This is just to show the audience members exactly what Mia is looking at. If I had the shot just showing Mia and not the phone viewers would be confused. If I did not show Chelsey before she appeared it would be confusing and would not make sense as to what she has to do with the plot.
