Blog Post #35- Change of plans
From the beginning, when coming up with my characters I was set on using my friend group as my main actors. But as filming begun it became harder and harder to pick days that fit with everyone's schedule and worked for everyone. And sometimes on days that things would work out for everyone; the weather would not work out or something would just come up. With my due date approaching I have to prioritize my film and change a few things to get my filming done on time.
From the beginning I wanted to create a movie opening of a teenage girl and the reality of the way things are. This was meant to include boys and heartbreak along with everything else. Ethan was meant to be the love interest. This was meant to be the guy she was heartbroken over. However, with no shots of them together or any indications that she is heartbroken over him I have to scratch his whole character out of the plot of my story.
Noah was meant to play the friend that supported my protagonist and help her though the breakup. By taking the breakup plot out of the film ruins the purpose of having this friend for my protagonist. The character Noah was playing has no relevance to the plot without the breakup. This led me to the decision to also take him out of the film.
Now, my film has the basic plot from the beginning. A teenage girl and how she feels. For my film, my protagonist wakes up in the morning and the audience members follow along for her morning routine. The ending is continuing to stay the same and other characters are not being changed. My protagonist is staying the same along with the girl she is believed to be jealous of.
While getting rid of characters from my film is an inconvenience and requires some things to be changed, I believe my film will still give off the intended meaning.
