Blog Post #48- Working with the Credits
With the deadline approaching, the credits for my film have been added. When putting in my credits, I avoided blocking important things to the film and took little snips of the protagonist room showing that it was messy. While this was playing, the credits were added. This is a current draft of my opening scene. There is sound in my final film, but I muted it for the video just for the purpose of focusing on the credits.
These opening shots are meant to signify the protagonist messy room and that she has not cleaned it. This is meant to help the audience understand that the film is going to be sad along with the protagonist having a lack of motivation.
For the credits, the name of the movie, the name of my song with the band that sings it, and my actors are all credited. The beginning two cuts have the name of the movie and the song. The name of the actresses is not introduced till the protagonist is shown, however, that might change due to the sole purpose that the credits could look better together.
The opening shots are being used to help with setting the tone. As the film plays it will all start coming together and the opening shots begin to make sense. No transitions were added between the cuts because it makes the shots look less meaningful and fast pace.
