Blog Post #51- Sound Overlay
Throughout the film, there are two parts where I need to include a sound overlay. During these cuts, the character in the scene has a piece of dialogue but the music does not get cut out. To do this, I had to separate the clip of music from the whole track, lower the volume and then add in the dialogue.

In that first cut my protagonist says "I wish I wasn't me" then she goes to sleep. During that piece of dialogue, so my audience members can understand her more, I lowered the volume. This way you can still hear it and it will not block out the dialogue.This is a screenshot from the second cut:
